ABOUT ME
• Hey there. I'm Laura. How're you, love? Let's see...

life.
• I ♥ SING ♥ everything from classical literature to opera to Broadway show tunes.
• I also play violin; I've been playing since I was eight or nine years old.
• Recently, I picked up piano. I'm still figuring the whole black and ivory thing, but I'm getting there. .
• Broadway musicals rock my socks hard core; can't get enough of them.
• I enjoy discussing the political affairs of today. I'm a democrat, but that doesn't mean that I'm not open to other views.
• History is another one of my loves. I'm like a walking encyclopedia.
• I'm big into my Italian heritage. Guardi fuori, questa ragazza italiana ha un temperamento. That doesn't mean I'm not proud of my Irish, German, and Austrian roots however.
• I'm a bull Taurus, that is.
• Give me a box of canolies and I'm yours.
• I am a slave to academia, meaning that succeeding in school is very important to me.
• Ergo, I'm going to go to a good college with an excellent music and academic program. NAZARETH '11
• I LOVE Europe! I miss my AMA loves!
• I'm a generally cheerful, bubbly, goofy person.
• Someday, you'll see me on stage or on a record shelf. Keep your eyes and hears open.
• I'm a book worm, whenever I get the chance to read a book outside of my busy schedule.

Ok Yesterday, I didn't go applepicking. Oh well. I guess the aples weren't that ripe. Instead, Trev, Abby, and I just hung around and watched Old School (eek) and played Kingdom Hearts. We later went to the Spectrum and saw the Brothers Grimm. Nt much to say about that movie.;weird, predictable, and wtf. It's not bad for a little Saturday night entertainment..you know...nut it's not like some grand artsy film. Although I have to say I liked the use of light and colour in the film to vreate a heavy/ morbid mood for the film. Very cool. On a scalw form one to ten I give it a five. meh...
o.O I think we're going go-carting later today. Let tell you I am the worst driver in the world....so I guess that's why my parents won't let me get my permit just yet. They must have forseen my icky driving skills..seriously though. Trev and I went gocarting like a few weeks ago and I must have crashed into the guard rails at least four times. aaah. How embarrassing! Oh well, I just started driving. I know the basics about driving but I just don't have a lot of actual experience yet. In time, my friends, in due time.
eek I can't believe in less then 72 hours I'm going back to school. RUN AWAY!!!!!!! I have my hardest year ahead of me, junior year. Eek.
Here's what I'm taking this year:
-Spanish IV Honors
-AP United States History
-AP/ Honors English 11 (they combined honors and AP stupid yes and I did't really feel like taking AP but I don't want to take regents)
-Math III R
-Chemistry R
-Symphony Orchestra
-Concert Chorale
-Music Theory I
Plus I'm involved in these activites:
-Multicultural Society (promotes international unity throby raising money for world charities)
-Amnesty International
-The Warrior (our school news paper I'm one of the assistant news editors)
-maybe Visibility our GSA if I have time...hah
-the musical (I'll get involved whether I'm cast or play in the pit again)
-and maybe I'll try out for drama club maybe
-I also have CDYC (capital district youth chorale-a treble/mixed choir we do a lot of concerts with other professional choirs and such)
-I'm getting confirmed this year...I have to picka sponser and a saint's name and do a lot of community service...yipee...I don't mind officially becoming Catholic but it just adds stress to my junior year.
Oh, and did I mention SATs, APs, and regents? Yeah lets not forget about our end of the year exams shall we. Oh yes. Last but not least, my college search is begginning. damn...more stress.
As you can see, I'm going to die, quite literally acctually; along with the rest of my graduating class.
You know I have no idea what my schedule is yet. I don't even know who my teachers are yet. We don't know until homeroom on the first day of school. That's really assinine if you ask me. I easn to be prepared if I get some idiot teacher so I can switch my schedule around so I don't have to deal with them. Oh no. Our school district doesn't want to deal with complaints..argh! I also I have to spend overa thousand dollars to get reiew books and SAT courses to do wellSo yeah and colleges want you to kill yourself with super-hard /useless AP/honors classes and get involved in a lot of activities so i can prove I am worthy to spend forty thousand dollars a year to go to their school, get a degee, and then end up not having a job because the economy ain't what it used to be and we're outsourcing jobs...here's what I say to that:
BULLSHIT!
Of course I'll go through with the grueling proccess but I'll try my best to make it bearable...hopefully it won't be as bad as it is.
whew, that's much better now that I've got that off of my chest. I guess bllogs are sort of thereeputic.
time to go greet Grandma (she's coming over for a little bit)c
Ciao
